I do wonder if, during the Battle of Hogwarts, Voldemort ever looked beyond his immediate goals just for a moment, and reflected on the fact that he was destroying the only home he’d ever known.

Makani’s illustration of Tom Riddle’s transformation into Lord Voldemort proper always makes me think of the nearly identical shot in the intro video of Planescape: Torment. Compare and contrast the video at 1:18 to the illustration.

I guess my point is that I have a new theory on who exactly the Nameless One might be. Come on — if you’ve played the game, you know who the Transcendent One really is, and why he is, and you’ve got to admit that if you imagine the Nameless One being, in fact, He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named, everything fits together frighteningly well.

God, how I love Planescape: Torment.
